In this world the word "afraid" has taken on a whole new meaning. What is the difference between being afraid and being fearful? You can be afraid of a lot of things. For instance, snakes, heights, insects, clowns, losing your job, losing a loved one, and maybe even losing your home, but being afraid does not take control of your character or possession of your spirit. FEAR, however, is a spirit sent by the devil to control your character, your way of thinking, and your being so that you cannot function properly in normal society. Fear causes an individual’s life to be sabotaged emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually, while immobilizing ones all around wellbeing. Fear definitely knows how to take one by surprise to the point where they do not know how to deal with the fearful phases in their lives. Some individuals look to drugs to numb the agonizing moments that taunt their minds. Others see psychiatrist in an attempt to hopefully talk this spirit of fear away. Some can't handle the fear they deal with so they are forced into mental hospitals where they are sedated and in turn become lifeless souls. If a person continues to feed this spirit of fear they may lose touch with reality.
I introduce to you a young lady who grew up in church all her life, her mother and father was pastoring a church in Melbourne, Florida. She has a brother and two sisters and like her siblings she was a typical pastor’s child. She was surrounded by a life of Christianity; however, her mother never forced her to live a Christian life. This young lady is I, Jazmin Gilmore. I was a well brought up child. I enjoyed my years as a teenager, hanging out with friends, not having a care in the world. Nevertheless, in-spite of me not being forced to serve God, I always had this passion for God. In result, I made up in my mind at 18 years of age I wanted to get closer to God and form a deeper relationship with Him. Balancing my Christian walk while engaging in school I had achieved the biggest thing in the world, finishing high school. I was off to college to pursue a career in teaching. However, life threw me an unexpected loop that changed my life in the blink of an eye. What lasted for two months seemed like it lasted a lifetime as I rode this tormenting roller coaster of fear.
