Corduroy

When the Lord said to me from Jeremiah 31:16 – 17a: This is what the Lord says: “Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,” declares the Lord. “They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your future,” declares the Lord. I was very confused and was not sure why He was saying this to me, as I had no inkling that anything was wrong or going on, but it was not long before it all made perfect sense. It was a few months later when it became very clear to me that my husband was having an affair. I was overwhelmed with all kinds of emotion and feelings; furious, sad, confused, numb, I wanted to run, scream, I was sick to my stomach. I am writing this book firstly because I believe I have been asked to by our Father in Heaven. Then I want to take you on the most incredible journey of our road to recovery. My prayer for this book is that it gives you an insight into the most Awesome, amazing, incredible God that we serve. He is worthy of all our praises and worship; He is faithful, full of mercy, grace and compassion. I wish there were enough words in the English dictionary to express how amazing our God is. I want you to see that if we surrender and do things God’s way, our God can do anything, even when there seems to be no way. He does work everything for the good of those who love Him. God can restore even the most broken marriage. I know, because He did ours. He makes a way when there seems to be no way, He gives hope when there is no hope, He gives strength to the weak, He gives us beauty from our ashes, He is the God of the IMPOSSIBLE, who gives back immeasurably more than we ask for or could imagine. When He fixes us we end up in a better state than we were before. You may think that ours was a different story to yours and yes it probably was, but I want to tell you that no matter what your story is God is a redeemer and restorer. Our story will take you through many torrid times, many of which you might associate with and many that you won’t, from the absolute high of being relatively newly married with a beautiful baby, through the period which lasted about 8 years, in which my husband lived this double life, a married man, but also one who thought he was free to do as he pleased, through till today where our marriage is not only restored, but one where we are living a life which was beyond my wildest imagining, and you’ll see that through it all was a thread linked to the Holy Spirit. We are here today to tell our story because of our incredible God, who was my only counsellor, friend, advisor, confidant and shoulder (to cry on), and I want to tell you that He can help you through your situation too, whatever it may be
