Over on Faith Avenue, Grandma Nettie was baking two of the best pumpkin pies she had ever made. Her grandchildren were outside playing in the yard, and they could smell the pies baking. The kids were so excited and couldn’t wait to eat them!
Grandma Nettie took the pies out of the oven, put them in her open window to cool off, and started cleaning up the kitchen. Meanwhile, her grandchildren decided they were going to put the final touches on their float for the parade.
“Grandma,” called Lucy through the window.
Nettie came to the window. “Yes,” she said.
“We are going to work on our float with our friends. Be back soon.”
“Okay kids, but be back by 12:30 so we can have lunch and then get ready to go to the parade,” Grandma told them.
“Alright. See you later!” the kids chorused and ran off to finish their float.
Grandma Nettie left the kitchen and went about cleaning the rest of the house. When she returned to the kitchen a little while later, she discovered her wonderful pumpkin pies were gone!
“What could have happened to those pies?” She asked herself. “What am I going to do?” Grandma decided to pray. “Lord, you know what is going on and where those pies went. Please work this all out for your good. Thank you in advance for providing pies for the cookout later. In Jesus name, Amen.”

Heaven’s Hill is a quaint and well known little town deep in the valley of Mount Tilly. What makes it so well-known is their yearly festival, Celebration Day. Grandma Nettie is determined to find out and teach her grandchildren some valuable lessons along the way.
About the Author
Rebecca Iacobacci is a teacher assistant at a Montessori school and actively involved in her church. She grew up cooking and baking with her mother, grandmother, aunts, and sister. Every Sunday they would gather together at grandma’s house and create something absolutely delicious in the kitchen. Having grown up in a large family, Rebecca was always surrounded by younger cousins who often got into mischief together. Those fond memories and her love of baking helped inspire this book. She enjoys teaching children not only school work, but valuable life lessons as well. She hopes this book helps parents teach their children the difference between right and wrong, how to celebrate their individuality, and to understand how special they are in God’s eyes.
