This book provides a comprehensive view of history as revealed in God’s holy Word, the Bible. The chronology in chapters 1-3 reveals more than 3, 000 years of history dating from the creation, linked solely by scripture. Scriptural support for the creation narrative, that pervades the Bible, is provided in Appendix 1. The book reveals three absolute dates that accurately link history from the Creation to the Second Advent of Jesus Christ. The first absolute date, for the year of the divided kingdom (930 BC), was identified by Dr. Edwin R. Thiele (1951), who unraveled the mysterious numbers of the Hebrew kings only after Israel re-born as a nation in 1948. His absolute date enables an accurate chronology from the Creation to the Persian King Artaxerxes and it links ancient Bible history with the Common Era. The second absolute date revealed by God’s miraculous heavenly sign, the Christmas Star (June 17, 2 BC), was discovered by astronomer Roger Sinnott in 1968 and it confirms a precise chronology for the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that fits perfectly with scripture. The third absolute date, May 14, 1948 identifies the re-birth of God’s chosen people, Israel, as a nation. This date marks the beginning of the period described in the Bible as the “latter days” and the season of the Lord’s return. Importantly, the Exodus story reveal much about how God defines a generation in scripture so that believers, as children of light, can know that there is indeed, a generation that will not pass away before all that Jesus revealed takes place prior to His return. Several scripture-based timelines in chapter six identify the “witness” generation, alive today that reveals and add clarity and urgency to the nearness of the fulfillment of God’s plan for the ages and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Two thousand five hundred years ago, the prophet Daniel was told by the angel Gabriel (Dan 12:4, 9) to seal up the books until the time of the end when knowledge would increase and that which was hidden would be revealed. Jim Dodge earned a master of science in aeronautical engineering. After retiring from the U.S. Navy as captain, he taught adult Sunday school classes at his local church. He also led small group Bible studies and served as the host of The Truth Project. He produced the The Christmas Star DVD in 2014 and has facilitated a prophecy Bible study at his church since 2013.
