Henry, where are you? I am looking for you.”
Henry, a fluffy, little cuddly brown mouse, stretched himself out of his nap when he heard this question coming from an unknown voice. It certainly wasn’t one of the Wilsons in whose house he lived. Who was calling him?
Was this a friendly Voice or one to be aware of with some fear? He kept his little rounded ears alert while his long tail now bristled with excitement or was that uncertainty? He looked around wondering whose voice that was.
“Who could be calling me?” Henry said to himself.
“Well, I’ll just have to wait and see if it calls me again”. He settled back down in his little red and white checkered bed he had made out of bits and pieces of material he’d gotten from Mrs. Wilson’s sewing room floor. He loved to scavenger at night when everyone in the house was fast asleep. He felt a part of their family even though they didn’t know he was there.
His concern right now was who was calling him and why?
What did it want with him?

About the Book
Henry’s story can be anyone’s. It’s a tale of how to escape the humdrum of everyday life to venture out into the vast world outside of one’s own home. Sometimes, these adventures bring danger.
Henry is a cute, cuddly, little brown mouse who wants to be bold and adventurous. For years, he has listened to his “family’s” daily dinner table stories of what happened in their daily lives. Some of the stories are so delightful he begins thinking he wants to go out and have some of those happenings in his life.
The one thing Henry will need to learn is how to stay safe. As long as he remains in the Wilson home, he is protected. Outside, he doesn’t have that protection. Now he must fend for himself and keep himself safe. The question is will he be able to do this?
Once leaving his home, a new concern follows him. There is a mysterious voice following him everywhere he goes. It even talks to him seemingly with love and concern for him, or is it an unknown danger for him? Why did the voice choose him?
This is a must read to discover the unknown beauty of the world right outside our homes. Let’s leave the boredom of everyday life and go outside to discover what new possibilities there are to enjoy.
About the Author
Nancy Hurley has published two autobiographical books Close Encounters of the European Kind and Close Encounters with My Lord – Conversations with God describing her life decisions. Henry is her first venture into children’s writing. She is married to her husband Ron, has two married sons, four grandchildren and a great granddaughter.
