Then the disciples worshiped him. "You really are the Son of God!" they exclaimed.
What's it going to take for you to believe? The disciples have been with Jesus through many miracles up to this point. He had healed a leper, a demon-possessed man, the blind, the mute, and the paralyzed. He had fed 5000 men, plus women and children, with only five loaves and two fish! But it took Jesus saving Peter from drowning for them to exclaim, "You really are the Son of God!"
I was thinking about this, and then it hit me! Peter was a disciple. Jesus walking on water and working miracles for others, although awe-inspiring, lacked personal importance for the disciples. But, now, Jesus saved one of them! This is personal!
Jesus promised us tribulation in the world, but He also promised us salvation. If you've found yourself stuck in the middle of the sea with waves crashing all around you, reach out for Jesus' hand. Let Him become your personal savior and show Himself to you as the true Son of God.
