It was the end of a school day and Jane had just finished practicing with the school choir for an upcoming Christmas play. Jane bundled up in her snow suit and boots and trudged home through the snow. It was a beautiful time of year. The pine trees, and roof tops were covered in snow. Lights twinkled in the store windows. The town’s Christmas tree was lit up with white lights and decorated with big red bows and a golden star on top.
Looking at the Christmas tree reminded Jane of the gift she wanted—a hot pink bicycle with a banana seat and streamers on the handle bars. She thought she would receive it because she asked God for it and Jane had a lot of faith in God. She prayed every night. She talked to God about all her hopes and dreams. She wasn’t shy when she prayed, she shared her whole heart with God and knew he was listening.

The Giver of Gifts and Light is a warm, fun-filled journey about young Ellen during Christmas time. Read along as you experience ice-skating, snowman making, and singing! In the end, Ellen learns not to be afraid of the dark, and that God is the giver of gifts and light!
About the Author
Amy Morton grew up in Montana and gave her life to Jesus when she was 5 years old. She moved with her family to Lodi, California in her teen years where she met her husband. Amy wrote her first Christian poem called “Imagining Revelations” when she was 16 years old. It was later published by Sparrow Grass Poetry Forum. Her mission is to serve God and his people by inspiring them with truth that will encourage them and give them hope.
