These pages have been written with the hope that you may find comfort, peace, hope, and direction in your life. The poems and thoughts you find within these pages come straight from our hearts. Many were written during mountaintop experiences, while others were written during deep valley experiences. No matter what the circumstances we each clung to our faith in God, knowing He was our sustainer, our hope, our salvation and our joy.
Our prayer is you may find a more intimate relationship with God through our words.

Prayer is Faith on her knees.
Prayer is Fellowship walking hand and hand with God.
Prayer is Patience clothed in sack cloth of Job.
Prayer is Dependency interlocked in the fingers of God.
Prayer is Hope on a daily walk.
Prayer is Courage on life’s cinder track.
Prayer is Anguish in travail.
Prayer is Vision through God’s eyes.
Prayer is the Ability to rise from the mat of life before the final count.
Prayer is a Compass of the lost pointing straight to God.
Prayer is a Goodnight Kiss of a trusting child.
Prayer is Grace with her head bowed.
Prayer is Devotion with any embrace with God.
Prayer is Duty on a long journey.
Prayer is Humility with an ache in her breast.
Prayer is Compassion with tears in her eyes.
Prayer is Power to slay a Goliath-sized adversary.
Prayer is Quietude near to the heart of God.
Prayer is Strength to stand in the front line in life’s battles.
Prayer is the Stairway to God approached one step at a time.
Prayer is Request clothed in sincerity.
Prayer is Talking, Listening, and Waiting on God.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.

About the Author
Edna Faye Rutledge Smith has written poetry and short devotionals for many of her ninety-five years. She resides in Big Spring, Texas, and is the mother of two children, three grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Jacque Smith McKnight is a homemaker, former executive director of a Christian counseling center, and the former women’s ministry director of her church. She and her husband have three children and seven grandchildren. She resides in Amarillo, Texas.
