“I don't know.” Kennedy looked up at the stars, they were twinkling so brightly. She noticed the one star in the middle, it didn't twinkle, a little dull. “Do you see that star...right there?” Kennedy asked Harrison, releasing his hand. “Um, yeah, what about it?” Harrison didn't see what she was getting at. “It kind of reminds me of myself.” Kennedy's smile faded away. “What do you mean?” “Well it's the middle one, the center of attention. That's kind of like me, everyone's watching me it feels like. The stars around it are lit up, but that one is dull. I feel that way too, like nothing’s going right, I'm slowly dimming, just like that star.”

About the Book
The annual Oil of Joy Youth Camp is right around the corner. Garrett, along with other teens from the church know the whole camping routine: the games, the services, the food, and sleeping in tents. What they don't know is that this year is anything but routine. When several other teens with troubled pasts end up at the church camp, major conflict occurs. A near drowning, a four-wheeler accident, and a fight that has an impact on the whole group makes Lilly, the youth pastor, wonder if this is all worth it.
Then one game of truth or dare reveals the deep issues and matters of the heart in each teenager. When the teens begin to express who they really are, what will happen between them now and when they return home? And where is God in all of this?
Youth Camp is an inspirational story that shows that through God's grace and an open heart, anyone's life can be changed.
About the Author
Emily Kraenzel lives in Dickinson, North Dakota with her parents and older brother, Taylor. She enjoys hanging out with friends, skiing, and traveling to new places. Church youth group is a big part of her life. She has been active in youth retreats, camps, fundraisers and much more. Her passion is to share God’s word with others and to deepen her own relationship with Jesus Christ.
