“My baby—he is healed! Right after you walked out the door the other day when you prayed for my son, he started to wake up. As he was waking up, my baby’s father said that he watched as the hives started to disappear right before his very own eyes! My son started playing and laughing like he used to before he got sick! The doctor didn’t know what to do, but Jesus healed him! It’s a miracle!”
I was elated. As my eyes swelled with tears. I hugged my friend as we praised Jesus together in the fast-food restaurant. I ran and shouted praises to Jesus and the other coworkers and customers looked at me like I was crazy, but I didn’t care. Jesus had healed a child! He used me, a nobody, to do His work! I was so honored and humbled that Jesus chose me. Jesus became so real to me in that moment, and I knew I had to stay with Him forever. I knew that if He believed in me enough to trust me with His people, then I was a special woman after all. I didn’t have to have low-self esteem and a poor self-image; Jesus loved me! From that moment on, I began to pray for people. I would pray for customers in the restaurant, friends, and family. I became confident in who I was in Christ.

About the Author
Cameron Hodge graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in June 2010. At UNCG she received her Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, majoring in Global Affairs and International Development with a double minor in French and Spanish. Currently, Cameron is pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration, while working in the nonprofit sector. With great joy, Cameron is an active member of a college ministry called Youth Taking Charge (YTC) on the campus of UNCG. She is also an active member of her church that she loves dearly, Zion Place Ministries COGIC, which is located in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Cameron is on a daily pursuit to become more like Christ, because her faith rests in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and in the power of His resurrection. She believes it is only because of Christ that she has come this far, and it will be only because of Him that she will go further. As a young woman of God, Cameron desires to be a Christ-like example to young people everywhere, showing that the saved life is the best life. She has committed her life to sharing the Gospel, in order to see people walk in the freedom, victory, joy, and salvation of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
