Not a cloud in the sky, Jeffrey Ross made his morning visit to the Dunwoody Starbucks, expecting this day to be like any other. It wouldn’t.
Five minutes later, he was laying facedown, atop two others, victims of the dark, brown van. Jeff was an ex-SEAL, if there was such a thing, and he made note of the van’s third pass, but not soon enough.
The flash invaded the coffee shop first, blindingly intense and hot, then the blast blew out the windows, not harmed at all by the heat and light energy that just passed through.
The second blast, a few blocks away, destroyed a child-care center. Homegrown terrorism had finally arrived in Atlanta.
A few miles away from Dunwoody, Samarra left her meeting at Emory after receiving a strange call and wondered if it had anything to do with her immunology research at CDC. It was a secret, or was supposed to be.
Going home as instructed, Samarra opened the box of candy on the kitchen counter and collapsed. Before losing her balance, Samarra recognized the small finger, severed and still wearing the tiny ring she gave him for his 7th birthday. Her precious son.
She opened the note after regaining limited senses and read. If she didn’t want to receive young Thomas Karloff Russell’s head in a box, she would do as instructed. And she did.
The Spanish Flu virus was on the loose and in the hands of Aboud Rehza, a soldier of Jihad’s Warriors, a mutation of al Qaeda, Hezbullah, and the many other Islamic terrorist groups, living the good life in the good, old USA.
Of course, God didn’t need mankind to end the world. He had some plans of his own, fed up with all the Christians, Jews and Muslims who thought he really didn’t mean the things he said through the Ancient Jewish Prophets. Fed up with the atheists and doubters. He said he was a jealous God, and he was. No one had time for Him.
Not yet seen by man, a massive object was hurtling toward Earth, planning a visit in just a few months.
Then there were all the disappearing people.
Jeffrey didn’t believe in God but considered himself spiritual, whatever that meant. He thought God was pure mythology, that no one could walk on water or bring someone back to life. He knew that Moses, if he even existed, could not part a sea with a stick.
That was all getting ready to change.

Jerry Robb has maintained a thirst since a young age concerning the predictions about how the world would one day end, as we know it, based on the Biblical version of the story. The author has studied, for the past three decades, the Bible, The Quran, Mormonism, Judaism, Christianity and pagan religions and is well-versed in all.
An agnostic at one time in his life, the author decided to research the truth in 1979; and he has never doubted since.
A graduate of N.C. State University, he served four years as a U.S. Navy Corpsman during the Vietnam Conflict and is President of the Duluth Civitan Club. Jerry lives in an Atlanta, Georgia, suburb with his Great Dane, Harley, and two wild and crazy kitties. He has two daughters and a grandson.
