Do things happen to you that makes you want to ask "Why me Lord?"
This is the story of our family's journey through a short few years, as many trials afflicted our lives. Many times I asked "Why me Lord?" His answer was always, "Why not you?"
God always hears, and He never forgets. His silence does not mean that He is not listening. It probably means that the best time of deliverance has not come yet, and that He is patiently waiting for the right moment to arrive when He will prove His love and His power.
There is a set time for pruning the branches of the vine, and there is a time when the pruning hook is laid aside. God's time is the best time; "He that believeth shall not make haste." We will become holy vessels for the Master's use in time and in Eternity.
When the path on our journey becomes obscure, we must wait; but not shirk the work that lies before us, for in that work may just be the solution to our problem.
In the few short years of our devastating journey, our family's 91 year old barn and dairy operation burnt to the ground; my husband lost his right leg in a terrible farm accident; our youngest daughter had two major hip surgery's; and I severely burnt my right hand. Going through such catastrophic times, including a few other times of trying situations, we recognize that the power of God helps us stand strong in the face of all that opposes us. Without the power of God's Holy Spirit working in us, we can't be liberated from the things that keeps us from doing what God has planned for us. We were created for a special purpose and through our trials we learn that God is preparing us and opening the doors. Although it may quite often seem like it, there is never a time when nothing is happening in our lives.
When we live according to God's Word and by the power of His Holy Spirit, we can trust that we are in the right place at the right time and the Lord is working His perfect will in each of our lives.
