On June 29, 2010, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal signed legislation acknowledging the eligibility of homeschool athletes in Louisiana high schools. At the end of this book is the official history of this controversial legislation. This is our personal story behind that historical record. Many other stories could be told regarding this legislation. I have no doubt that God was at work through these same events in many more lives than our own. This story is not only about educational choices, high school sports, and Louisiana politics. It is also about trusting that God knows all the details of our lives and is at work through all those details for our good.
My husband Chris and I both grew up in Louisiana. When our son Hozana was born, we had no idea that our choices about his education would lead to an experience with Louisiana politics. Life is certainly an adventure!

About the Book
Trust is the story of a homeschool family in Louisiana that wasn’t ready to choose between homeschooling and high school sports. A lawmaker’s campaign promise over a glass of water led to a three-year struggle with athletic and education associations that lobbied at the state capitol. Prep sports and politics are big in Louisiana, and to disturb the status quo of either is not for the faint of heart. Believing some problems are better solved than accepted thrust Lisa Arceri into a very unfamiliar world of politics and policy-making. The trials and defeats of going through the legislative process are the setting for this family’s experience of God’s sovereignty and faithfulness.
About the Author
Lisa Arceri lives in Metairie, Louisiana, with her husband, Chris, and their three sons: Hozana, Israel, and Justice. She and her husband have homeschooled their sons for more than a dozen years.
Before this story, Lisa had no experience with politics and a limited experience with sports. It was her experiences with God that prepared her to face political opposition. Lisa has found herself in places of trust many times since she trusted Jesus with her life in 1979. She hopes her story will inspire others to trust in the sovereignty and faithfulness of God in their own lives.
