During the rest of the week, rumors were rampant that the ghost had shown up at Tildy’s and had brought with it demonic bugs that attacked customers and left red welts on their legs and arms. It was said that Miss Penelope had even been attacked in her wheelchair and had suffered a mild stroke. It was also broadcast around that her husband had sprained his ankle trying to rescue his wife and that the demonic bugs had invaded his clothing so that his pants were covered with a curious ectopolasmic substance which would not even burn in his fireplace, so he buried them. He said he was going to sue Tildy when his wife got better. Children at school that week embellished what had occurred so that a devil with red horns had been seen lurking around the premises and flames were coming from holes in the ground around the store. A greenish light was also reportedly seen in the shop at midnight. Bertha Jones said she was sure the rose perfume was gaseous because she nearly suffocated and it had brought on an asthma attack when she got home. Rumors abounded from the fanciful to the ridiculous.

About the Book
Although the shop is said to be haunted, Tildy's is still patronized by customers of every stripe imaginable. Strange things do happen, even with the presence of the gospel trio who work in the back to check in donations. Someone or something is bent on taking down Tildy's bitterness over childhood bullying due to a physical deformity and racism. Is there a Nephilim about? The little, economically–depressed, Southern town of Hortonville has a lot to deal with, and they must find a way to overcome.
About the Author
Eulene Rier-Cienfuegos is an educator, speaker, musician, and writer. She has spent forty years in education as a teacher in Charleston, SC; in Washington, DC; and in San Diego, CA. She has also been a high school administrator in San Diego and a faculty member of San Diego Mesa College and Pt. Loma Nazarene University. She has been a featured singer in DC, in San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties as well as in the Caribbean. A member of the Apple Valley Nazarene Church, she is in music ministry, teaches an adult Sunday school class, and is a member of the board. A retired widow, she lives in Apple Valley, California, with her two dogs, four birds, cat, and pond of fish.
