God Heals

There are many testimonies of healings that I witnessed on those Ministry School trips, but there is one that really touched my heart. On these trips we would go into the Colonias (neighborhoods) and invite people daily to the services at night. We had a children’s service in conjunction with an adult service. As part of the children’s service we would have clowns. This miracle occurred one night when I was a clown. There I was in my green wig, full costume and makeup, and standing at the rear of the service was a young woman holding a baby. It was clear the baby was afflicted with Down’s Syndrome. I was completely moved with compassion. Yes, I am a father and I do have a heart for children, but this was God’s compassion that I felt. I asked the woman if I could hold her baby so that she could enjoy the service. I also asked if the baby was a Down’s baby, and the woman affirmed this through an interpreter. He was also blind. As I held that baby, all I could do was stare into his face and cry. There was no concern for my appearance as a clown. All I could think of was this poor woman, without adequate medical services to ever properly care for such a challenged child. Weeping, I wiped away tear after tear from my eye, and prayed to God to please heal this baby. At some point the Holy Spirit said, “allow your tears to fall on the baby.” Even now, as I write this, tears flow from my eyes at the memory. So I obeyed. “What could it hurt,” I thought to myself. Tear after tear fell onto that baby, in his face, in his eyes, on his forehead. And before my eyes that baby’s face transformed. The best edited special effects video could not portray the transformation I witnessed as I cried on that baby. I saw God move facial structures from classic Down features to a perfectly normal looking baby.
