What was supposed to be a brief moment of silence has transformed into an apprehensive hush settled within a scarce number of homes throughout the nation. The few citizens who still declare themselves Christians, hold secret prayer meetings in their basements, pleading for God to rescue the Martyr Four. "Strangers in the World" is a short sketch based on end-time biblical prophecy. The year is 2020. Four high-school students are in prision because of their Christian faith. The world suffers from a severe case of stagflation. The United States particularly is overflowing with regions submerged in hazardous living as a result of the early 21st century economic collapse. Over the past three years, several countries desperate attempt to redevelop their homelands has ended in numerous world wars. To put an end to warfare, as of January 1st 2020, the newly implemented Centralized Government Division of the United Nations passed the Common God Law. The purpose being to unify the world in peace through one universal religion for all. This is the tale of those who refused to conform.

About the AuthorBuffalo New York native April Baskin has studied dramatic arts for over ten years. She is a member of The Actors Equity Association and currently serves as a drama coordinator for The New York Metro Youth District of the UPCI and several Christian conferences in the New York City area. April actively spreads the gospel of Christ through filmmaking, theatre and teaching acting as ministry seminars. She currently resides in Brooklyn NYC with her husband and daughter. |
