Many books have been written about many different
things. Some are excellent and help us grow spiritually
and closer to God. The Bible is where we gain our hope, strength,
endurance and guidance for each day we live. But like others, I have
a book to write.
I believe I have something to say that will help those who need to
redirect their thinking and start a new walk with the Lord. God tells
us His mercies are new every morning. That promise means whatever
happened yesterday is gone and today is a new day.
In 1996, I dreamed of an old trunk filled with different items.
Some were beautiful, but needed to be taken out and cleaned up.
Others were old and tattered and needed to be thrown away. As I
thought about the dream, it reminded me of things we have stored in
our minds. Some items are good and some are bad. I thought of all the
wonderful people, I have known over the years, who allowed issues
from their past, to stop them from being the people God had planned
them to be.
After having the dream, I started thinking about writing this book.
At the same time I was getting ready to retire from the insurance
business and move from California back to the Midwest. Needless to say, I got busy with other things and put the book on the lower shelf.
But the Lord continued to bring thoughts to my mind. I would write
them down and think, “I need to write the book.” Then the enemy
(Satan) would come along and say, “What makes you think you can
write a book?” ‘Who are you and what do you know that would benefit
anyone?’ During those times I allowed the enemy to steal the things
God was saying to me.
One day I picked the pencil up and told my daughters that I was
going to write a book. They were excited and thought it was a great
idea. Later, I told a good friend about the book. From time to time,
he would ask, “Have you finished the book yet?” Finally I have finished
this book.
I pray, as you read this book, that you will look into the hidden
places of your mind to see what is stored away that does not need to be
there. Take the bad out and dress your minds in good items.
