I feel it safe to say that everyone suffers from a broken heart at some point in life. None of us are spared from a journey of brokenness. We are all touched by it in some way.
The dictionary defines brokenhearted as “burdened with great sorrow, grief or disappointment; devastated, overwhelmed, destroyed, crushed, despairing or frustrated.” Whatever our brokenness is, we must understand that it impacts our heart and changes us. We often put up walls to protect us from being hurt again. Sometimes, if you are like me, you may think your pain is healed but your brokenness can leave behind scars and emotional baggage you may not know exists. But it can affect the way you are living or even keep you from living. The true culprit could be broken moments in your life that you never allowed God to heal fully. Circumstances and events can reopen wounds that reveal our brokenness. I want all of God’s best for me and for you, and we shouldn’t settle for anything less than that. God wants us healed and whole.

Lynne Bauman is a wife and mother of two. She has been involved in women’s ministries as a leader, teacher, and mentor. She is actively involved in her church, Walnut Hill Community Church, in Bethel, Connecticut.
She is passionate about encouraging women to know who they are in Christ and loves coming alongside them to share in their walk with the Lord and move forward in Him together.
