THERE ARE NO McDONALD'S IN HEAVEN

What has made us such an impatient group of people? The answer is obvious and certainly nothing you haven’t either heard before or said yourself a time or two. Technology. The immergence of modern technology has brought information to us so rapidly that now if it takes mere seconds as opposed to split seconds we think there is something wrong with our wifi connection. We are impatient regardless of the wait. The light turns green and we immediately BEEP our horn. The store is crowded and we have to wait in line and the world knows we are NOT happy about it through our body language as we shift our weight constantly, roll our eyes and fidget. What is wrong with us?? We have become a society that feels entitled. Entitled to what? Entitled to everything that WE feel we have coming to us. Now that may vary based on our upbringing or our heartfelt desires, but I believe generally speaking, that we as a people feel entitled to high paying jobs, expensive cars, jewelry, gorgeous girl or boyfriends … the list goes on infinitum. In actuality, we have been sold a bill of goods. God never promised we would receive anything and everything our little hearts’ desire. “But Rich, it does too say that …” ______________________ God has said to us, “you don’t need a mountain of faith, just a mustard seeds worth to accomplish anything in my name.” The operative phrase there is “in my name”. We need to trust that God is who He says He is and that He will do what He says in His Word He will do. God is the essence of truth. Now if you are honest with yourself you know in your heart that everyone has faith. It’s what or who you place that faith IN that makes all the difference in the world. Faith and trust are intertwined. I trust that when I sit down on a chair it is not going to come apart and send me to the floor. I trust that my bank is going to handle my money properly and not lose it. I trust that when I stand up in the morning that my legs will support my body. These things are so common place in our lives that we really don’t give them a second thought. But they are just a few examples of how we utilize faith and trust in our everyday lives. Some people have been so mistreated in their lives, either as children or adults, that they have a really hard time having faith in anything. God is there, but they cannot believe that God would let happen to them what happened, so their heart forms a callous around it to protect them from further pain. God did not CAUSE their suffering. They suffered at the hands of people who lost sight of what was truly important to them and lashed out in a way that damaged others. This next statement I will make is my opinion and may not sit well with some readers, but I believe these things are a result of the Fall of Man. Sin entered the world and as a result, pain and anguish came along for the ride.
