In college one spring, we were given applicaitons for a summer mission assignment. I don't know if I wanted to go to the mission field more or if I just wanted to avoid going home. I bargained with God. I told Him that I would go if He would arrange for me to go to some wonderful place like Alaska or Hawaii. I emphatically told Him, "Please do not send me to Mississippi or Alabama." Only two students from my college were selected to work with the Home Mission Board that summer. I was sent to Alabama. I learned a lesson I have never forgotten. Do what God wants you to do, Girl. When he wants you to do it, Girl. Where He wants you to do it, Girl. The way He wants you to do it, Girl. I was richly blessed.

God's Presence in the Life of an Ordinary Woman is about an everyday sort of woman who became a Christian early in life. She shares the many times when she couldn’t feel God with her, begged to feel His presence, and wondered why He was so busy with everyone else. She also shares how she trudged through these times to come again to a full realization of God’s presence. Through all these times, she yearned to serve Him. As in childhood, now in old age, she yearns for His favor.
About the Author
This autobiography is the third book by Kitty McCaffrey. Her second book, Raising Charlie, is a Westbow Press book. She has also been published in newspapers and magazines. She is a retired educator who now enjoys using the skills she so often taught her students. She lives with her rescued shih tzu, Lily. She is the mother of two adult sons. She enjoys studying, reading, gardening, volunteering, and writing.
