On his way to the sand hole Little Elephant heard laughing. "Look at that funny looking elephant!" they laughed. "His trunk is longer than the Nile River!" they said loud enough so he could hear. He turned around to see who they were laughing at and there was no one there but him.

About the Book
Little Elephant was born with a very long trunk, much longer than any of the other elephants in his herd. He is made fun of by the other small elephants, as well as the adults of the herd. It crushes his heart, but on one hot, sunny day, his trunk proves to be far more valuable than what the others have seen. God had a plan for his trunk, and Little Elephant becomes a lifesaver and a hero!
About the Author
Born and brought up on the small island of Grand Manan, situated in the Bay of Fundy, Shelly has many great childhood memories but also remembers being bullied in middle school and high school and how it made her feel. She moved to Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, shortly after finishing high school, where she followed her passion of working with children as a nanny, day-care worker, and presently an educational assistant with the school district. Her best teacher and learning experiences comes from raising her two sons, of whom she is very proud!
