Occasionally, guest speakers filled in for our senior pastor when he vacationed. One particular Sunday, I had the opportunity to listen to a sermon by such a guest speaker. The subject of his sermon was about church ministries and those who served in them. He talked about people who wanted to be a part of a ministry that was not available to them. No matter how hard they tried or how long they hung in there, they were not chosen to serve. THAT WAS ME! The speaker continued that a number of individuals were so sure it was God leading them in a certain direction they prayed about it constantly. They were consumed with the dream and dwelled on it all the time. They talked to others and became angry and bitter because they were not chosen. THAT WAS ME!

About the Author
Dianne Coon has been performing for nursing homes and retirement centers in California and Oregon with her group, Spice of Life, for over twenty years. Writing about music, as it has comforted her throughout her life, was natural and enjoyable. Dianne is a professional vocalist and also a member of Olivet Community Church in Glendale, Oregon, where she directs the choir and sings for Sunday services. Dianne is also a published author of a children’s book, Nerual’s Adventures and the Greatness of Agnes. She resides in forested mountains of Oregon with her husband.
