Expectations that we have and the changes God brings about in our lives come in a variety of ways. Sometimes, what we want in life is exactly what God in His all-knowing knowledge gives us. We see a need in our lives and bring the need to the Lord Jesus. Then He answers our request exactly as we have requested. The result is that we glorify God and worship Him. Let us look in Scripture and verify that this principle is true.
Usually, we come to Jesus when our back is against the wall and there is no earthly way that relief can come. We need a miracle and seek the Master who alone can perform miracles to come to our rescue. Some expectations that we have are accomplished by us turning to Jesus. It may be that we need to make an "A" on a final to get an "A" in the class, which is desperately needed to advance in our studies. So, we pray like crazy and study like there is no tomorrow. The result is that we receive the "A" and give God the glory. Or it may be an extreme request. We, or someone we know, need physical healing when the medical field gives little hope. We pray and pray and seek God's face. The result is a miraculous healing. We give God the glory and worship Him. Often times our expectations are met by Jesus. We just need to turn 100% to Him to answer our prayer. This happened in the life of one woman in the Bible. Let's look at the Scripture passage, as recorded in the Book of Mark.

About the Book
This is a book about change, not only what change is, but also how change affects us, our responses to change, and finally, a biblical model for overcoming change. You may ask, “Why a book about change?” The reason is that we live in a world of change. Change occurs in our lives on a daily basis. Change is the only thing that is constant. Look around you. Change is everywhere and occurs interpersonally, relationally, constantly (organizations either getting smaller or larger), technologically (increases are at an astronomical rate). Even the focus of the church changes as culture changes (sacred old hymns to contemporary music, and single pastor to multi-ministerial staffs), and on it goes. Change definitely is constant, and change is everywhere.

About the Author
ROBIN BRUMFIELD is pastor of Providence Baptist Church in Meadville, Mississippi. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Technical University, a Master of Divinity from Talbot Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Luther Rice Seminary. He has written two previous books: The Project Manager’s Guide and Tentmakers Guide to Ministry. Both books went through several publications due to popular demand. He currently lives in Forest, Mississippi, with his wife, Zoe. He has two adult sons, Justin and Michael.
