Of all that mankind has achieved in medicine in the conquest of diseases, in astronomy with more discoveries about the universe, in the area of technology as more sophisticated gadgets are invented, with undeniable excellence in the entertainment and travel industries, he also has never lived in a more polarized, divided, and riskier world than today.

The current level of enmity, hatred, anger, and frustration in our world today is mind-boggling. Our world hungers and thirsts for peace and reconciliation among individuals and organizations, but no one seems to know how to come by it. Pastor Augustine Ogbunugwu, in The Enemy to Love, has labored to show a way forward. He makes a case for how to stem the tide of hatred and enmity, bullying and exploitation, especially of the vulnerable and the weak in our world. He reminds us that the injunction to forgive and love our enemies is a divine command that has personal and communal benefits, as well as serious eschatological implications.

About the Author

The Venerable Augustine Ogbunugwu is an Anglican priest. He has served as parish priest, seminary instructor, high school principal and university chaplain. He is the vicar of the New Covenant Anglican Church, Sugar Land, Texas.

He is a known church planter among Anglicans, especially in Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York. He writes out of deep, personal experience with over thirty years of secular and religious teaching ministry. He strongly believes that the Christian message should be delivered without much embellishment-the whole gospel to the whole man for the whole world. He holds a master’s degree in theology. He and his wife have two children and two grandchildren. He has four unpublished manuscripts. The Enemy to Love is his first published work.
