The central figure in God’s design, revelation, and perfection of the Church is Jesus Christ. Any understanding of the Church must focus upon Him. He is the centrality of revelation through God’s Word. He is the beginning and the end---the all in all. We enter this study by pointing to Him and His role in God’s design for the Church. To understand the role of Jesus Christ in the Church, we must get a clearer picture of Him in terms of His existence and revelation in eternity and in time. The first difficulty we face is that we are not able to comprehend or define eternity, and the second difficulty is that we do not comprehend or define time very well.

About the Book
This book was not written; it was built. I was not the architect, but a laborer under the direction of the Holy Spirit whose purpose is to honor the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not intended for casual reading, but to inspire further study of the Word. It is my hope and prayer that readers will be inspired to build upon the concept of the church as “God’s alternative society.” It is my hope that many sermons will grow out of what the Holy Spirit has given me to put in this book. It is my hope that it will lead to study of the Word, which reveals Jesus Christ who said, “I will build my church.”
About the Author
Dr. Frankie O. Phillips Sr. is a retired professional educator and pastor. He has considerable writing experience his professional carreer. He holds three degrees—a BS in social studies, an MEd in educational administration, and an EdD. in educational administration. He has been a student of the Word all his life and has done considerable preaching as a pastor. He has been working on some of this material for many years and says it is time to publish. He lives in southern Alabama. Presently, he is unable to stand or walk, but says his mind is as sharp as ever. He and his wife, Willette, live at her old home place in the country, which they rebuilt. Prior to moving back home, they lived in Georgia for many years. In recent years, they have pastored four small churches in the area.
