A Mighty Warrior's Footprints of Love

The Prayer Box Several visions have stood out more than others. The visions of Christ leading me and other warriors to battle, Christ’s deliverance on His stallion, Christ and me dancing together, and the multiple mini visions of Him and me embracing have really made an impact on my Christian life and relationship with Christ. However, none have made an impact on how I view God’s desire and love for us like the “prayer box.” The prayer box came to me as I was seeking God out one Wednesday morning during my devotionals. I was engaged in prayer over certain family matters and the progress of my book. I was pleading with God to answer prayer. It had seemed as though I had been praying for months over the same things and was not seeing the results I thought I should. Writing the book has been a struggle and a battle within me. And as I prayed during those “writing months,” it seemed the burden of writing a book for the King of Kings started to take its toll on me and my prayer life. My confidence would be rattled every time I felt the book wasn’t progressing fast enough or that the words weren’t flowing the way God wanted them to. I sensed God’s urgency and felt I just wasn’t writing quickly enough or that I wasn’t writing what God wanted me to. At the same time I felt compelled to reach out to others (in particular my family) to share what God was showing me. I wanted others to see, feel, and experience what I was experiencing. And I knew God wanted that as well. So in my prayers I asked God to reveal the moments that I should share my story. My prayers went on for months with no results. In turn I thought God just wasn’t hearing me. I thought I must be in the “wrong place” with Him. And during that Wednesday morning prayer, I had had enough. I stopped my prayer and cried out, saying, “God, I’m just not getting through. I’ve been seeking and seeking answers to my prayers and seem to get no response.” It was at this moment the Lord said to me, “Do you really seek me?” I responded with an emphatic, “You know I do!” At that moment I found myself standing over a man praying on his hands and knees to God Himself. I stood on the top level of a platform made of pure white marble. I was in a throne room of sorts and was in the presence of God the Father. To my right was a brilliant light, brighter than the brightest burst of sunlight. It lit the room with royalty and power. I could not look directly into it. As I looked down I saw a man on his knees, bowed completely face down, his hands clenched together and arms straight out in front of him. I instantly knew he was in prayer before God. I saw the anguish and pleading concern he had as he lifted his prayer to God. I could feel his emotions pour out his prayer to God the Father. As I watched in awe at the way he laid his heart out to God, I realized the prayer he pleaded was mine. I thought at that very moment it was me who lay prostrate before the Lord looking for answers to my prayers. At that very moment, the man praying at the base of the throne lifted his head. His face was full of anguish and breaking love as tears streamed down his face. It was Jesus.
