If we are going to have an authentic relationship with Christ, we MUST understand a transformed mind isn't an option or a perk, but mandatory. Our core belief system has to be completely revamped. Our core beliefs serve as the foundation of our operating system. It starts in childhood and the concrete is poured slowly and steadily, and is reinforced over time. There are pillars that hold up the framework of our minds. We aren't even capable of being our authentic selves with the old framework because that framework was shaped in iniquity and born in sin (Psalms 51:5). There had never been any consultation with the creator with regard to who we are or what we were created to be; that framework was built simply as a response to the jarring emotional stimuli and abuses of life. Upon becoming a new creature, this foundation contends with the word of God to sit on the throne of our hearts. We conveniently lay scriptures on top of our old wicked foundation. We smear the sermons we've heard on top of it, and we try to build a new life with Christ on a foundation our adversary laid. No wonder I was so messed up. The concrete of a foundation has to be violently broken. Even concrete that was poured with objects that obstruct its integrity hardens. The Caldecott Experience wasn't the jackhammer that began to break up the foundation. It was merely the charge given to the jackhammer. I would have to go back- way back to figure out when and why I became the person that would settle for this relationship, this treatment and the belief system that communicated it was the best I could have. Each memory would need to be exposed to the jackhammer and completely cracked apart and overwritten. What God says about me, his plans for me and my future would have to replace the perspective that I initially internalized as a result of my experiences.

About the Author
KELSI MARIE ARCENEAUX is a native of Berkeley, CA. She is currently an evangelist, conference speaker and radio broadcaster based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After publishing Clarity Is Divine as an article in 2012, and in response to the reactions it produced, ministry associates and friends encouraged her to expound, to give readers access to her process of restoration. She has a passion for seeing people emotionally healed and freed from spiritual and emotional bondage.
