Jesus is our perfect example to follow. After quenching Satan's fiery darts, by walking daily by faith, and not by sight (or the senses), and by continuing in constant communication with the Father through perpetual fasting and prayer, Jesus stayed well equipped to fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6; 12). The Lord proceeded to take the offense by speaking authoritatively and with understanding the precise word of God that addressed the specific attack and temptation, a perfect demonstration for how we disciples and believers are to respond to our trials and temptations. These temptations can be both physical and mental, but even the physical ones are designed by the devil to create platforms for later mental attacks of condemnation. The Word of God, both written in the bible and sent or proceeded (from the mouth of God) through the Holy Spirit or by God's holy messenger angels, is the perfect counter attack to Satan's temptations. Jesus showed us how God's Word is to be used in conjunction with a very active and strong faith walk or march with cadence of purpose.

This book helps readers see how knowing the truth of our identity as born again believers in Christ Jesus liberates us from those mental and physical shackels that sin causes. Knowing the purpose and the background of temptation also equips us to more completely and permanently overcome. If it was as easy as “Just don’t do it,” no one today would be suffering due to the consequences of self-indulgence associated with overeating, drug and alcohol substance abuse, hyper-sexual deviance, gambling, internet lusts, and all other addictions and snares of the enemy. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6 KJV) Certain portions of 'Temptation: Lessons from Trials in the Wilderness' are derived from question and answer sessions.

“For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” (2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV). A lifetime of unparalleled theological academia does not more greatly prepare one to receive a word from the Lord than truly loving God and thereby loving one’s neighbor (even the not pretty, difficult ones), fully repenting of sin and devoting one’s self to the kingdom of God. It is not for man to qualify or disqualify the anointed of God, nor is it for man to qualify himself. Rather let the work of the Lord and the fruit of a man’s works reveal whom God has chosen. An ex-professional athlete, I have been completely delivered from many areas of temptation through knowing the Truth of Jesus. Some of the greatest areas of change in my life where I have been delivered from bondage and truly made free have been drugs, alcohol, homosexuality, pride, selfishness and materialism. Now I only want you my brother, my sister, my friend, to be freed from those familiar sneaky and seductive lies of Babylon and the Devil’s kingdom of darkness. Then, you will forevermore live freely and lightly in Jesus, and His Truth and the divine power of God’s kingdom will see you working right alongside God to help your loved ones get free as well.
