"The natural man receiveth not the things of the spirit of God; fior they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." (I Corinthians 2; 14) (KJV)
Those who have not been born of God cannot receive spiritual things. That includes love. As a matter of fact, spiritual things are foolishness to them. They are unable to understand love, because love
is spiritually comprehended. the Holy 'spirit must be inside you, in order for you to understand love. if you really want love, you must start looking at those who are saved. "Those who love are born of , and knows God."
Wait a minute! We are not finished with this scripture in I John4: 7, 8. We discussed who has the power to love, and who knows God. Now, let us go on to the latter part of this text, which says, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
We have briefly talked about man in his natural state, and how he cannot love. Neither can he understand, ascertain, or comprehend love. The natural man does not know God, and does not have the power to decipher anything spiritually. There is no relationship, because there is no presence of God, in the natural man.
Man, in his natural state, can only give human affection. Somwe women settle for that, but it does not last long. Why? No one can love in his own power. The spiritual cannot be implemented by human will or volition. The power to love comes form a higher power--God himself-- because God is love.

About the Author
J. E. White doesn’t consider himself a prolific writer, nor does he see himself as an expert on love. He’s just a simple man who wants to see people happy. He was born in Houston, Texas, and raised in Beaumont, Texas. He attended Houston Baptist University. Thereafter, he went to seminary at the School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
As a young pastor, he was married for six years. Unfortunately, it ended in divorce, as did his marriage to the church he pastored. Both separations hurt White deeply. He didn’t know, however, that he was getting another type of education. This time it was the Lord who was doing the teaching. He has known sorrow and grief. He has been rejected, hated, and despised. But nothing could separate him from the love of God. Out of it all, love survived, and this book emerged. He doesn’t regret his misfortunes, because he knows God has great things in store for him. What the devil meant for evil, God is turning into good.
