God gave Israel the Mosaic Law (God’s law given through Moses) and in those ordinances were rough images (types and shadows) showing us how we can approach the throne of God (Hebrews 10:1)! The “Tabernacle in the Wilderness” is a revealing study with its furnishings and it gives us both reassurance and a greater understanding how we may reach the throne of God!
When Jesus died on the cross the veil in the tabernacle was ripped from the top to the bottom at the very moment of his passing! It was at this point God had received the sacrifice he had desire from before the beginning of time. The veil represented Jesus’ body and when he died the “Holy of Holies” was opened where the “Ark of the Covenant” would have been. Jesus’ death broke down the barrier between the Jew and the Gentile as well (Ephesians 2:14). The ark contained the 2 tablets Moses received from God, the golden pot with manna and Aaron’s rod that budded. The tablets represented covenant with God, the golden pot with manna represents provision and Aaron’s rod that budded speaks of eternal life! Through Christ Jesus we have covenant with God, provision (Philippians 4:19) and the promise of eternal life (John 3:16 and Romans 6:22)!

About the Author
Bishop Jim has been married to his wife, Cathy, for forty-six years. They have four children and nine grandchildren. They were both saved in 1974. God immediately placed a hunger in Jim’s spirit to understand and share God’s word. Jim was called to the ministry the following year and has had the honor of pastoring since 1980. Jim interpreted and applied insurance coverage handling fire and casualty claims for many years. This helped him in his study of God’s word. Jim was conferred the title of bishop in 2012 for his many years of faithfulness to the ministry. Jim’s heart is to see people come to the knowledge of the truth and to be set free from the condemnation of sin. Bishop Jim strongly believes that those who have been blessed by God must share the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ!
