After just a few minutes inside, she came back to the sidewalk where I had drifted ahead to. In her hand were two brown paper bags, each one larger than a school lunch bag but smaller than a grocery store bag. Smiling, she handed me the bags and said "Thank you for helping me. This is my gift to you for being so nice." I wasn't sure what was in the bags, so I smiled and with a bit of hesitation accepted them. Of course, my question was "What's in here?". Before I could peek in, she told me that they were the seeds for the beautiful orange flowers at her doorway. With an infectious grin, and a twinkle in her eyes, she explained that every year, she would harvest the seed balls from spent blossoms and save them for next year's garden. Occasionally she would share with friends and/or neighbors although I didn't see any other yard on the block adorned with the beautiful orange blossoms.

In her new release, A Metamorphosis of the Soul, author C. J. Brown shares landmark experiences that have transformed her soul. Despite a successful and diverse business career spanning thirty-five years, she found her calling to aid those in need, the most rewarding yet challenging segment of her journey. It was then that she realized only God’s transforming love, grace, and peace could guide her through life’s challenges. She is a native North Carolinian who has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad. She currently lives on the coast of North Carolina with her husband, Phillip.
