Remember, your spirit is the essence of who you are and that same spiritual “body” will be released to go to heaven when your body dies. Wouldn’t the desire to be reunited with your pets still be present? Of course it would as your spirit is the "real you." It is the essence of who you are and you will still be "you" when brought up to heaven. Wouldn’t you rejoice over seeing Jesus, your human loved ones as well as your treasured dog(s) that you loved so dearly on earth? God has gone to a whole lot of trouble and planning to demonstrate His love for you, so, I believe your perfect happiness will indeed include your beloved furry friends if that is the desire of your spirit. God knows you and the desires of your heart. His word tells us that there will be no sorrow in heaven. There would be great sorrow for me if my beloved furry friends were not with me for eternity. God knows this and will not allow that sorrow. It is because of God’s love for you and I and His knowledge of our heart that reuniting us with our beloved pets in heaven is an unquestionable reality.

Tana Osborn is a retired registered nurse and average layperson, but has loved Jesus since she was a child. When her collie died, followed by her toy Australian shepherd, it was nearly unbearable for her. She went searching for truth, hoping it would be the reassurance she so desperately needed.
