I couldn’t believe that I was in this situation in a hospital with anorexia. I use to have no care in the world with confidence and even though this had taken place for months now I felt it was all hitting at once. I had hit rock bottom and finally had to face my enemy. I was about to have to fight something that was bigger than I could handle. The eating disorder wasn’t just in control of me but it was what I relied on to cope and most importantly for my happiness. Was I really ready to lose that? I wanted this to all go away but it wasn’t as easy as I had hoped for at that moment. I was rolled to room 1426. This number would be one that I would never forget. This was my new address for who knows how long. My new home for a while became a number in a hospital. Friends and family would write me letters now to 1426. The first thing I noticed was the window and the view of downtown. The city wasn’t that beautiful to me and it didn’t appeal to me. I had to get use to the look of the big city and even though I didn’t like it, this view would soon become my only outlet to the outside. The room was a decent size with a couch for my parents to stay. I noticed a television, a desk, and a slightly large bathroom. The smell was another thing I was getting use too. Every doctor’s office, hospital, or medical center has the same scent and I had to learn how to get use to it. I knew later in my life this would be a place I dreaded and would probably never step foot into again.

About the Book
By My Side is my personal journey through the trials I’ve faced with the Almighty God by my side the whole time. Even the darkest times in my life had a lighthouse. It took a lot of strength and courage to finally swim to safety. I had to give up my own control so God could take the pain away. When I finally hit bottom, there was nowhere to go but up. As I was searching for something to help me attempt to start my journey to recovery, I noticed his hand reaching out. He was always there, but unfortunately it took me reaching the bottom to finally reach the lighthouse. I hope this book helps others know that God is always there, whether we acknowledge him or not. He is just waiting for us to rely on him to take the weight of this world off of our shoulders. God’s love is indescribable. It is unconditional. It is safe. It is eternal. When I let God into my heart, I was finally able to start healing the wounds this world threw at me. By my side is the hope, strength, and love God provides during the earthy struggles we all face.
About the Author
I live in Kingwood, Texas, outside of Houston. God has put the passion of writing in my heart. I am an English major in college. God has seen me face struggle after struggle. I have fallen on my knees, I have screamed, and I have shed many tears. Something that always remained the same in my life was God. He has always been right by my side during everything. I know because of what I have been through, I know God wants me to share my testimony. For me and my passion for writing, my testimony quickly turned into a novel. I want to help as many people as I can that might be currently facing the trials in life that I have been through. God has blessed me tremendously, and I give everything to him.
