My name is Enoch; I am the principal fish of this school of fish. You may be thinking how ridiculous it seems that a fish can talk, write, and be educated in the ways of the human. I am not an ordinary fish; I am a principal of fish created by God to take care of a particular school. I have been a principal for many centuries. Before becoming a principal, life was not a bed of roses in which to abide. Living my life as an ordinary fish, I had to face a lot of travail to understand the endowments of my knowledge.
In the opening chapters of my story, I will share with you the things that I learned prior to becoming a principal. You may find it tedious but necessary to understand where I am coming from. I have the privilege to receive special privileges from my creator. I have the knowledge to understand with wisdom, all things created by God. The beginning of wisdom comes from the Lord, without him, I would understand nothing. Before I was a principal, I received special tutoring from some amazing creatures that led me to the light of Christ. This is my journal concerning my quest for knowledge.
There are many schools of fish of different varieties; swimming in the oceans, rivers, lakes, streams and ponds. God has established mammals and fish to exist in these environments for a purpose. You may not realize the principals of the schools are the ones you never catch in your nets, on your hooks, or in your traps. We are the ones that always get away and become a legend, the objects of boasting around the campfires at the gatherings of men. In my school, I remind my teachers of an old adage; fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. That is not my original adage but it is a good principle to follow if you want to live long. I would be remiss if I did not mention the shellfish that travels in schools. In my opinion, fish, crabs and shrimp live life in double jeopardy for survival because the people in the coastal areas love to eat them for all occasions. Crabs have principles to follow also. I do not blame the crabs, however, humans use fish and shrimp as bait to catch crabs and larger fish; I guess that is why humans are intrinsically selfish.
Whether we are human or fish, we live by certain principles; the same is true for all of God’s creation. In my case, God appointed me as a principal, governing those who are in my school. You may consider it is a metaphysical existence but I do live in the minds of all the teachers in my school. How do you suppose that when we migrate, each school knows exactly where they are at all times? Every living creature that migrates great distances have a principal in their minds to lead them to their destination.
Principles are the values that we treasure in our hearts; unfortunately, some creatures including humans have bad principles that will eventually transgress the will of God. Because I am a principal, do not think I have no principles to follow. The principals guide the teachers of newborn fish to walk in obedience to the will of God.
The insect world also has principles established by God to follow. It took me a while to understand this concept because I was born as a fish, but you would be surprised to know that everything created have to follow principles, or there would be no purpose for them to exist. For example, in my world, the ocean, I follow principles so that I may be a principal worthy of my calling to be a principal of a particular school. Humans think that it is instinct however; one of the principles that I have to be on alert for is that other creatures will have my school for dinner. The main thing to remember is principles are the values that we hold in our hearts to be true.
