God redeems fallen humans through the provision of eternal life through the death and resurrection of Christ, and our acceptance of God’s gift of eternal life. God gives us His Holy Spirit when we are born again to give us power to stay true to Him to the end. Only those who endure to the end will be saved. God’s provisions to establish us in our Christian experience, includes prayer, walking in and by God’s Holy Spirit, the study of God’s Word, worshipping God with other believers, and growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Christian life of discipleship begins when a person is born again. The new birth is needed because we have all sinned and the wages of sin is death. There is a need for God to give us spiritual life. Just as we have been born physically, there is a need for us to be born spiritually. Our physical birth is being born. When we accepted God’s gift of eternal life that is the new birth or being born again. God’s gift of eternal life is the gift of a life that is equipped with God’s power to live a holy life. God gives to believers in Jesus Christ a new heart and His Holy Spirit (Ezekiel 36: 25-28). The gift of eternal life is a relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ (John 17:3). This eternal life is dependent on us abiding in Christ. Eternal life is in Christ and we only have eternal life when we are united with Christ. A Christian who falls away from his relationship with God no longer has eternal life. If we say we have eternal life and yet live a life of sin, we lie and do not practice the truth. We accept the gift of eternal life by acknowledging and confession our sins to God, asking for forgiveness, and praying to accept Christ’s gift of eternal life. The gift of eternal life is received by accepting Christ through repentance, faith, and asking Christ to come into our hearts, and publically confessing that Jesus is our Savior and Lord. Once we accept Christ and are born again, God forgives our sins, gives us eternal life, and gives us the power of the Holy Spirit to live a holy life. But we can easily fall away and lose our salvation. Just as babies die without food and water and are vulnerable to dangers, so Christians are vulnerable to spiritual death, and need the food of God’s Word, the exercise of Christian disciplines, such as Bible study, prayer, and Christian fellowship.

God calls believers to not only be born again but to live a holy life. Those who stay true to God to the end will be saved. God desires that His people stay true to Him and inherit eternal life. In spite of the great danger of falling away, God’s Word, Spirit and power provides believers with what is necessary to stay true to God.
“Established in Holiness” focuses on the biblical theme of God’s call for Christians to be established in their faith and God’s call for Christians to not only win others to Christ but to teach them to be disciples who know and obey all that Christ teaches as revealed in the Bible.
