The moments immediately before he lost consciousness were quite routine. He was sitting at his desk talking to someone on his staff. His head was as clear as it ever was. After the incident he would read people's descriptions of foreshadowing or premonitions of their aneurysms - none of those descriptions matched up with his experience. That afternoon as he calmly spoke to the staff person sitting across from him at his desk, he noticed the walls of his office beginning to spin and pass him much as if he was on a merry-go-round. That strange effect lasted just a minute or two, with no particular discomfort or pain, no flashes of light. Then he slid out of his desk chair and fell on the seat of his pants on the floor behind his desk.

About the Book
Without warning, the author experienced a ruptured brain aneurysm, judged to be a grade-four bleed. He spent seven weeks in a neurology intensive care unit, in and out of comas. This is his personal reflection of those experiences and his gradual journey back from them. His recollections are constructed with the help of his family members, who were more aware of what he was going through than he was at the time.
About the Author
Mark Prowatzke, a native of Wisconsin, lived and worked in Idaho, Minnesota, and New York before retiring in Missouri. Married to Suzanne for forty years, they have been blessed with two children and two grandchildren.
