About the Author

Marilyn grew up in the Dallas area in church and always served in ministry including Sunday School, Baptist Training Union (BTU) and the Music Ministry. It was in Sunday School and BTU that she learned how great, how awesome and how powerful God is. Marilyn attends North Garland Baptist Fellowship under the leadership of Dr. Tony Mathews. She currently serves in Christian education as the Rejoice! Praise Dance Ministry Co-Director and as the Nursery Coordinator. She has also served as an Awana director, choir president, and in women’s ministry, singles’ ministry and children’s ministry. She is certified by LIGHT University as a counselor for women and is a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Marilyn has been anointed by God with extraordinary leadership and administration skills. She has been given an exceptionally loving spirit that intensifies her gift of encouragement. Marilyn is fervent and faithful in prayer in submission to God and as a prayer warrior and intercessor. God has blessed her with a very engaging, practical teaching style which makes the word of God come alive. Fascinated by the Trinity – God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit – she thirsts to learn and live God’s word daily. Marilyn has a great love for God and His people and she endeavors to live a life of honesty and integrity through Him. Marilyn is the best friend you always wanted to have. She is faithful and true.

Her professional career has included 15 years with a Fortune 500 company and 6 years in the retail industry. In 1991 she pursued her love for arts and crafts as a Wedding Coordinator and currently hosts weddings and special events for close friends and relatives. She expanded her entrepreneurship in 1999 as an independent consultant providing customized training. She wrote and taught business seminars at the Richardson Civic Center and through Fun Ed. Seminars included Business Ethics, Conquering the Fear of Public Speaking, Effective Meeting Techniques, Exceptional Telephone Skills, The Power of Positive Thinking, Proper Business Attire and Time Management. Marilyn has recorded radio commercials for TXU and a television infomercial for Rodeo Ford. Marilyn has also been a member of Toastmasters.

She began writing her first Christian book in 2010 under the unction of the Holy Spirit to encourage others that no matter what their circumstance or past, God can and will use them for His good purposes.
