How would you spend the time that you have with Jesus? How are you perceiving and therefore receiving the Gospel.
The Pharisees and religious leaders take advantage of their time spent with Jesus by what? Questioning and testing his knowledge of the law and the depth of His wisdom. They bring to him their human understanding of their “sensible” complications, the glitches of life they can’t fully understand.
The young ruler runs to Jesus, to present him with questions of eternity only to be thwarted by his own human limitations, his own love and desire for money. A disease that evidently only latches itself to those deemed “not children.”
And lastly the group of people who know Jesus the best, the disciples, cannot fathom the fact that Jesus, their leader would have time for toddlers when there are so many adults about. People far more worthy to gain his attention, with deeper, more intense obstacles and difficulties they need dealt with.
Yet within this the children, the kids take full advantage of Jesus. In the midst of a crowd so worried about the intense problems of life and endless quarrelsome questions that kids simply cannot understand, they just come to Jesus. They come and embrace Him.
This is what the Gospel is about; it’s not about a set of rules and regulations. It’s not about a checklist you have to complete to be worthy or a list of principles, it is about a person. And it is about embracing Him.

I’m not a pastor or leader of any church. Not a scholar, writer, or comedian, and even my real name is relatively insignificant. Although, I love Jesus and cherish every chance I get to serve Him whilst being overwhelmed by the fact that I get to be a part of His mission and His message.
I’m not an international preacher or acclaimed teacher, although I strive to glorify and honor God in the humble opportunities I am blessed to have.
I am a general sports fan, although convinced that basketball is God’s sport. I live in South Australia on the coast with my mother and three sisters during the winter and at the beach with mates during the summer.
