Introduction

Is there a God out there? You know … a supreme, all-powerful being, a sovereign Creator? And if this God does exist, what kind of a deity is he? Or she? Or it?

I’ve learned through innumerable discussions over the years that these are questions many people would like to get sure answers to. The problem is that wherever we turn, we’re given different opinions that usually only serve to confuse us further. It becomes tempting to give up the search, but we shouldn’t—because the answers to these questions hold the key to unlocking our very identity.

As a person of faith who has believed in the Eternal my whole life, I found myself caught off guard one day when a colleague of mine challenged me to prove it. I knew this was no small task, but my competitive nature wouldn’t allow me to back down from the challenge, so off I went.

This book summarizes my journey through the disciplines of science, religion, philosophy, and history in an effort to find evidence—no, proof—of a Creator.

I hold no theological degrees or church offices, hopefully allowing my starting point to be free of denominational shackles.

My desire is that this account will help seekers sort out some of the mess that has been created over the centuries regarding this essential issue. And who knows—maybe they’ll even find a few answers. Happy reading!
