Your level of attainment in life will be determined by the level of the grace of God operating in your life. One of
my fathers in The Lord said that it is grace that makes great and that when there is exceeding grace in your life, you should expect exceeding greatness. It is grace that turns a slave to a heir. It turns a prisoner to a Prime
Minister. Grace makes the difference between two people. Each of them may start life on the same level and probably possess the same level of education, but it is grace that determines what eventually happens to each of them.
I tell people that being an academic student of distinctionin school does not guarantee becoming a student of distinction in the school of life. But a poor academic student can become a man of distinction in life. You can count your degrees and qualifications, but it is best not to count on them but to seek for grace. It is also best to count on God and not necessarily on people. If you depend on a person in authority today, if that person
leaves office or dies, then your platform for success is gone. But God is from eternity to eternity; He is ever present. Life in the kingdom of God is not by works but by grace. When God releases His grace upon you, you won’t toil and sweat again.
Think of the stars in the vast heavens. David said he considered the heavens, the 'work of God's fingers,' the moon and the stars which God had ordained… (Psalm 8). Well, all David could do was to consider, or contemplate.
He [God] telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. (Psalm 147:4).
The above scriptural verse may not mean much to you unless you are something of an astronomy aficionado. Now consider the following statements of fact. When you stand outside at night looking up the sky with your naked eyes, you will see about 5000 stars. With small telescopes, you will be able to see hundreds of thousands of stars, but with the largest telescopes, you will see millions of galaxies each of which may contain
200 billions of stars. Modern astronomers have determined that there are more that 1 x 10 stars in the known universe. That is 1 followed by 22 zeros. When you consider the fact that for some unknown reason, the universe is known to be constantly expanding at a terrific rate, you can imagine the actual number of stars. This means they keep increasing.
,p .Can we see the futility of man trying to figure out God? Now, let us consider the vastness of it all. With the gazillions of stars out there, and the space they occupy and keep occupying, can we imagine anyone of us — or our machines — numbering, labeling, identifying and naming each of them? That is exactly what the Lord God has done. He calls each star by its name. He has everything labeled. He knows their positions, composition and perfectly understands their purposes. Now the question comes again, if God knows the stars, as innumerable as they are, and as far flung as they are from each other, why should he not know me or you?
Checking what the Bible has to say about this led me on a path of amazing discoveries. I found out that although God knows every individual on the surface of the earth (didn't he make them, after all?), yet He still speaks of certain men in more specific terms of knowing. So if I ask you, “Does God know you?,” do not be too eager to answer unless you understand the question very well. I want to tell you up-front that those whom God knows are the recipients of his special grace. As you read this, please make up your mind that you must be among the known of God.
