About the Book
Does it really make a difference what we do or how we do it? Are there strict rules and steps to follow? Can we afford to be careless, thoughtless, reckless, and oblivious to the very real consequences of failing to be deliberate in our actions?
Imagine if we lived our lives each day fully aware of the Word of God, ever mindful of the meanings and final results of every action. What if we made up our minds consciously and deliberately to adhere to every line and precept? What if every move and thought was intentional and purposeful as we seek to please God, learn more about Him, and share His love with others?
Living Wittingly takes us on a journey as we answer the many questions about our walk with God. There is nowhere better than the Word of God to discover the tools of living wittingly, intentionally, and victoriously.
About the Author
Bishop Doctor Edward Barnett is the founder and pastor of Greater Grace Family Ministries Church. Its foundation was in 1991, when he returned from a trip to Africa. There the Lord gave him the name and mission for the church. Bishop Barnett was born in Washington, DC and educated in the public schools there. In the early 1980s, he helped the late Rev. Conrad Brooks establish the Christian Praise Church in Washington, DC, serving in evangelism and the men’s ministry, and was selected as deacon. He was called into the ministry in 1982 and ordained in 1986. He served his pastor until his calling to the pastorate was evident in 1990.
He started Greater Grace Family Ministries Church with the support of his loving wife of twenty-nine years, First Lady Adrienne H. Barnett, his sons, and three other families. After twenty-four years, the ministry is still flowing in the anointing of the Holy Spirit; bonds are loosed, the oppressed are set free, curses are broken, spiritual maturity is evident in believers, and the spiritual leadership is focused and connected to the divine godhead to carry out divine purpose.
Bishop Barnett has had many souls saved by God while training candidates for the ministry through Greater Grace Family Ministries Church. Some went on to work elsewhere in the kingdom of God as deacons, ministers, pastors, and evangelists.
He still enjoys watching the power of God move in the marketplaces of the world. Currently he is the director of residential services for a nonprofit that serves the mentally ill in Washington, DC. He oversees two supportive residential facilities, a crisis home, and a supported independent living program housing over fifty mental health consumers. He has substance abuse counseling certification through Catholic Charities, an accredited substance abuse program. His oversight of staff is invaluable and productive, his trainings are thoroughly informative, yet he remains humble and simple.
Bishop Barnett has preached and ministered throughout the Washington, DC metropolitan area and Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia. In 1991 he traveled to northeast Africa on a missionary journey. He spent many hours counseling, preaching, and teaching the Word of God in Nairobi, Kenya, and in Sudan, Uganda, and the Rift Valley area. While he was in Mombasa, more than a thousand people gave their lives to Christ in a crusade. In March 2014 he returned to Kenya and also visited Katamega, Kisimu, Nairobi, and Uganda. He conducted pastoral and leadership training throughout those regions. He oversees many churches in western Kenya.
From the beginning onward, God has drawn many to be trained in leadership and service for God, with a kingdom-building mindset out in the world.
Bishop Barnett always encourages “Be excited by the challenges, create opportunities, expect the best”
