The LORD provided my precious daughter with her own EMT at the sight. (15th intervention of the LORD) Once I climbed in the window, I saw she was not in her bed. This did not surprise me as she had been sleeping on the couch in her living room because of the difficulty of getting in and out of bed with a broken arm. I checked her upstairs bathroom, second bedroom and laundry room. I even looked in the walk in closet. I did not see any sign of her. I proceeded down the stairs slowly fearful as what I may find. As I turned the corner, I noticed the house appeared to have been ran sacked. I thought for sure a robbery of her home had taken place. Her living room lamps knocked down, and her glass end tables turned over in complete disorder. The whole living room was in disarray. Cat food spilled everywhere on the floor. The kitchen and dining room, which are right off the living room, looked no better. Dirty dishes stacked in the kitchen are everywhere. Cat food scattered everywhere in the kitchen and dinning room as well. This was not like her at all. She always kept her home immaculate. It startled me. There was no sign of my daughter. I thought perhaps she went to stay with someone because of the robbery and forgot her phone. Then I noticed some blankets rolled up in front of the creme colored leather couch. As I began to rummage through the blankets, my eyes looked straight ahead and I saw her lying there. She looked very still to me. One of her arms was sort of in the air. I believe she was reaching for the heavenly angel the LORD had sent to take her home. I was so startled to find her in this condition I ran to the door to let the EMT in as he had instructed. Understand this was a precious moment for me. The LORD allowed me to find her. For a few seconds it was just the LORD, her, and me in the room. (16th Intervention of the LORD - a precious moment I will never forget)! The front door opened very easily. (17th Intervention of the LORD - That was the one and only time that door did not stick as we went in and out.) As I ran out the EMT ran in. He told me as soon as I found her to let him inside her home. I hollered for my husband to call 911; however, he heard my screams and was in the process of dialing. The EMT was only in there for a few minutes. When he came back out, I asked him if there was any hope. I asked him if she was breathing. He said no very solemnly to both questions and he was not sure how long she had been lying there. I screamed and screamed and I collapsed in the driveway in my husband’s arms. My husband could barely hold me up, as he too was devastated. Sadness and shocked overwhelmed me at that moment and many days to follow.

Window of Grace displays the love of God and His people when tragedy strikes. A mother must climb out of a second-story window of a townhouse onto the slanted roof, walk across the roof, and climb through another second-story window to find her daughter has passed away. As she experiences the overwhelming sadness of a deceased thirty-three-year-old daughter, she explains over forty-one occurrences of the Lord’s intervention. Included in the interventions is an EMT on sight, a basket of love, a thirty-fourth birthday party, and a vision of heaven. The chapter “Letters of Love” is letters she received from the EMT himself and other women who have experienced a similar tragedy. These letters of love contain so much sincerity and pouring out of love and compassion that your heart tenders as you see how this mother is embraced. She attends a “Night of Remembrance,” where she places a dove on a Christmas tree in honor of her daughter. That dove with her daughter’s name on it is now a new Christmas tradition on her own Christmas tree. She tells how she managed the first Christmas holiday without her daughter. At the “Celebration of Life” for her daughter, the unexpected surprises she learns about her daughter are overwhelming. She realizes she did not know her daughter as she thought she did. The burden of a second tragedy strikes when she receives the shocking news from the medical examiner explaining the cause of death. The raw emotion revealed in Window of Grace sustains healing by the love of the Lord and His people.
About the Author
Growing up I loved to read and write. I read books to the kids in the neighborhood while my sisters played with dolls.
I started writing poetry at the age of eleven. I wrote a poem to Jackie Kennedy when I learned of the assassination of President Kennedy. I received a thank-you card from Jackie Kennedy with her signature. I never stopped writing poetry after that wonderful reward.
I thought my first book would be a book of poetry, as I have had several poems published. The Lord had a different plan. I am so excited to pen over forty interventions of the Lord in Window of Grace, as I processed the death of my thirty-three-year-old daughter.
