Changing with Faith

So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, But she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.” Luke 21:3-4 NKJV

A man asked me if I was a new Christian. I told him I was a used Christian. To me that makes sense, if you are a Christian you are used by God to do his work. When I go to Bible study classes many people are new Christians, just now learning what God wants for them. During the classes you hear many tell what they want from God. Mansions of gold and a perfect body seem to be talked about the most. But God wants you to draw closer to him not the things of man.

We tell people they are the body of the church, the hands and feet of God. It is up to them to do the work of change. Their job is to relay the message of the risen Lord to all that don’t know His word. To know God they need to be used by Him to do His work. Reaching out to your fellow man is where real education is gained. To deal with difficult people without compromising your beliefs can be better than a college education. Honesty, faith and hard work will form your relationship with God. Giving your all is what is required.

For many don’t understand the term your all. It is one hundred percent. Everything you do should have God involved. Many can not do a lot but what they do should be lead by God’s word. Some do not have the skills or the money to do much but reaching out is not about skills or money. Honesty, faith and hard work is what showing God’s love is all about. Are you using your hands and feet for God? Are your thoughts about what God wants you to do in your everyday life?

Lord, help me to overcome the things of man. Help me to give my all to You.
