Welcome! It's 4 uMom believes in building relationships with community moms through avenues of interest and concerns moms face on a daily basis. Rather your meetings have special speakers such as a pediatrician, executive chef, financial consultant or an evening sitting around the table and connecting with one another, ladies have opportunities to live Christ through their inner actions with their new friends. In return, moms come to know Christ, and the Spirit of God draws the family to believe as well. This is based on Acts 16:31, “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” It's 4 uMom believes that with prayer and direction from the Holy Spirit, this outreach endeavor can be implemented through the church, building relationships in the community, and will have eternal results for God's glory. It's 4 uMom welcomes you to a new method of reaching people for Christ. Overview – Building relationships through every stage of mothering – The Purpose: Reaching the community through reaching moms The Tool: It’s 4 uMom It’s 4 uMom is dependent on the following leadership positions: 1. The Pastor: The Pastor of the local church must be behind this outreach 100% for this program to be implemented successfully. 2. Director: Oversee outreach program 3. Coordinator: Lead the team of volunteer Supervisors 4. It’s 4 uKids Supervisor: Oversee child care 5. Hospitality Supervisor: Responsible for greeting guests and refreshments 6. Publicity Supervisor: Responsible for advertising 7. Table Supervisors: Connect the community mom with the church 8. Mentor Mom(s) It’s 4 uMom is an outreach opportunity for your church to develop relationships with moms in your community, to help meet their needs, and to show them the love of Christ. Basic Timeline for It's 4 uMom At every meeting pray for the event and at all times keep communication lines open. ? 3-4 Months Prior 1. Pastor meets with ladies of the church and presents the outreach ministry. 2. Pastor designates a Director. 3. Pastor and Director decide when meetings will take place, day or evening, based on the church calendar. Meeting twice a month allows relationships to develop. 4. Director designates a Coordinator and Supervisors. Director assigns these positions according to talent, abilities, and availability. 5. Coordinator assigns responsibilities to Supervisors. (Handouts of guidelines and responsibilities will be given.) 6. Director meets with all leaders to discuss the yearly theme. ? Ideas for speakers ? Ideas for activities ? 2 Months Prior 1. Coordinator selects table leaders. ? Number of table leaders depends on size and interest of program. ? Supervisors can be table leaders. 2. Coordinator meets with all leaders to hear reports on any completion of tasks. ? 1 Month Prior 1. Director meets with all leaders to hear reports on tasks completed and on schedule. 2. Director prays with all leaders. ? Pray for speaker. ? Pray for volunteers caring for children. ? Pray for the moms attending the meeting. ? 2 Weeks Prior 1. All leaders meet to review responsibilities. 2. These should be completed according to time frame. 3. All leaders meet to pray for the meeting. ? 3-4 Days Prior 1. Director/Coordinator contacts all leaders. ? Call by phone, email, or Facebook to finalize responsibilities of each position. ? Help with any unfinished tasks. 2. Director/Coordinator contacts speaker to confirm last minute details. ? Day of the Meeting: 1. Director/Coordinator contacts: ? Speaker (optional, point 2 above) ? It’s 4 uKids Supervisor ? Hospitality Supervisor 2. Director/Coordinator reviews: ? Schedule for the meeting ? Items for the meeting 3. Director/Coordinator reminds: ? All leaders to be 20-30 minutes early ? About the Author
Josie Aenis taught kindergarten for twenty-seven years and was an administrator of a Christian daycare for thirteen years. Josie has been a women’s fellowship leader thirteen years and directed a community moms’ outreach program for eight years. She and her husband, Jim, have two grown children and live in Florida.
