God has the absolute sovereign right to be God over all of His creation. He is the Potter. The Potter does not owe mercy or compassion to anyone. God will reveal His glory by saving a remnant of weak, seemingly insignificant people. God’s choice takes all the glory from man. God is not subject to His creation in the least way. He acts on behalf of His creation, but never is it the other way around. The things that God has made never affect Him or His plan. When we begin to understand God’s holiness, we begin to understand the depths of our sinfulness and God’s amazing grace.
God has called us out from this world to become His vessels of mercy in order to make known the riches of His glory. This is His motive behind all that He has chosen to do. Does He have the right to do this? I say yes!

A Glimpse of the Chosen challenges readers to ponder the Bible’s teaching of the doctrine of election. The writer begins by giving a small glimpse into the domain of the absolute holiness of God, his amazing power, his righteousness, and his love.
God, who is the ultimate genius, has a divine purpose for everything that occurs in time and space, both good and evil, in order to ultimately reveal the amazing riches of his glory.
A Glimpse of the Chosen unfolds a glimpse of God’s work in calling people to him, beginning in the Garden of Eden, continuing throughout history, and ending with the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
The writer demonstrates that we are fallen creatures with a distorted knowledge of life. We can take comfort in the fact that no matter how things appear, God is in control and has a purpose for every human being, both saved and lost, that he creates.

Richard “Dick” Hill, ThD, is a pastor known for his strong exegetical Bible teaching. His passion is making difficult Bible truths understandable. He holds degrees from Florida Bible College, NOBTS, Dallas Theological Seminary, and Tyndale Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Linda, have three children and nine grandchildren.
