A Note from Jennifer
I am thrilled you have decided to embark on this journey with me. I don’t have any formal Biblical education to speak of. My life is not flashy or impressive; therefore, God is in the perfect position to receive all the glory through this study. I have desired to be a student of Biblical history, the Hebrew and Greek languages, and discover deep spiritual truths hidden in Scripture through a formal education. But, it seems God had a different method of education for me. Instead, Jesus met me in my home, made my dining room table His classroom and my life experiences our class field trips. I have absolutely enjoyed many of those field trips as He taught me, yet several of them have not been any fun and, in my opinion, too long! I can assure you, though, He gave me souvenirs of His faithfulness from each one of them that I treasure.
About 12 years ago, I was asked to join a group of women in a Bible study. I agreed to go, without really expecting much. Let me just say that sometimes when we are not seeking Him, God reveals Himself to us anyway! And He did just that. During the second page of that study, at my dining room table, I fell in love with Jesus in a way I never thought was possible. I’ve been a church girl all of my life. Sometimes us church-going people get used to hearing the gospel and all the wonderful attributes of Jesus, yet never experience Him in a very personal way. How did God use that study in my life? To draw me to Himself one-on-one. It’s as if He had reserved a table with only two chairs, one for the Creator of the Universe and, amazingly, one for me. Through His Word, God showed me He wanted a relationship with me, not my empty religious practices. That moment brought such life and significance to me that I have never been the same since. So now I present to you the reason why I wrote this study: I want others to experience Him as I have. Oh, I know all of our experiences with God will not be exactly the same. And that’s what I love. He is a very personal God, reserving unique and precious moments for each of His children. We are all His favorite! This I know: God uses His Word to draw every person to Himself. It is then that we can see Him clearly, and He can show us who we are in Him. Did you know that you are cherished by Him? That He calls you by name? Yes, my friend, it’s true. But, now it’s time for you to find this out for yourself. Your Father is going to speak to you and show you your worth and identity in Him. And you will never be the same.

About the Book
As women, we live in a culture where importance is placed on image, position, ability and socio-economic status. The world admires such traits, and devalues the lack of them. But the world has it all wrong. We simply cannot derive our worth from these shakeable and changeable conditions. Even our pasts can keep us imprisoned from seeing ourselves through God’s eyes and cause us to wrongly determine our worth. In this study, we will go to our unchangeable Creator God and grasp His view of us and His purpose for our lives, while releasing wrong mindsets that have kept us from moving forward. Will you accept Jesus’ invitation through this study to draw near to Him and find your eternal, unshakeable worth and identity in Him?
About the Author
Jennifer Kirkes has been ministering in various areas of her church for 20 years. She has served all ages ranging from nursery age to the oldest and dearest. Her passion is to inspire others to discover their identity in Christ while developing a deep, abiding relationship with Him through the study of His Word. Jennifer is a wife and mother of two sons and resides in Denham Springs, LA, where her primary ministry is her family and home. This is her first publication.
