My goal in Wild Oats is to paint a realistic and applicable picture that supports the principles surrounding the redemptive nature of God using several situations that have been realized by this author. The oldest book in the Bible records the life of a good man named Job. He lost his children and possessions in what appeared to be a cruel set of circumstances, yet, “…he did not sin nor did he blame God.” Toward the end of the book, Jobs says, "As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives…” In order to enjoy the freedom from past behaviors and negative situations and bask in the truth that bad things can be turned around to be positive, we must exercise a little faith.

About the Book
Wild Oats takes an honest look at God’s redemptive character. When the fruit of past behaviors revisit a person, it is in God’s character to turn the situation around, from something negative to something positive. Likewise, when a person’s conduct is pure and productive, the visitation in future years can be rewarding. Wild Oats was birthed out of the well-known life principle that we “reap what we sow.” The message is that it is never too late to stop destructive conduct and begin to purposefully focus on healthy behaviors. Becoming alert and adopting solutions that prevent problems can not only change individuals and families; it can also change generations. It is the author’s hope to equip the reader with the skills needed to discover answers that lead to peace with God, family, loved ones, and him- or herself.
About the Author
Joseph B. Christopherson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Hannah Lee Christopherson, who moved their young family to Mexico, where Joseph’s father served as a Baptist missionary in villages across the state of Michoacan. Joseph served in the USAF during the Vietnam era, completed his undergraduate education, and has served in various ministry positions throughout the years as well as in executive leadership positions in nonprofit organizations. He earned a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from the Houston Graduate School of Theology as well as a doctorate in organizational leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Joseph is married to Laura, who works as a prosecuting attorney. He serves as the executive director for the El Paso Baptist Association, is a clinical member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, is a member of the Society for Church Consulting, and serves on the board of directors for various other nonprofit organizations.
