When the Last Tear Falls
A day is coming
For those who believe
Sorrow is finished
Nor shall we grieve
Pain will pass like
A ship in the night
Joy unspeakable as we
Take in the sight
Death is vanquished
Nor trouble us more
For those who believed
Meet on heaven’s far shore
Mankind’s fall
And ongoing sin
Shall never darken
Or hurt us again.
Tears that are bitter
No more to be
For our Savior will
Be clearer to see.
Being with those
Who trusted in God.
We walk in peace
And heaven do trod.
The streets paved
With the finest of gold
Just as the bible
Had always foretold.
But the part that thrills me
Really the most
The fellowship we’ll have
With God as our Host.
In heaven the eye
Glory shall see.
A tear not present
For you or me.
The final last tear
Drops to the floor.
Then the jubilant shout
As there are no more!

Daniel Mortimer manages the construction of hospitals throughout the US. He has been married to his beloved wife, Nancy, for twenty-nine years and is the father of six children (one son in heaven). He has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Bucknell University and played rugby and football there many moons ago. Daniel is known for his wit, humorous stories from the road, and ability to bring insight to many situations. His mission statement is to help others know Christ or know Him better. He has been involved in many aspects of Christian ministry across the country and enjoys designing and building custom furniture from pallets, running, weightlifting, hunting, fishing, and many other aspects of life.
