Let’s Leave the Land of Lukewarmness. Read Revelations 3:15-16, “I know your deeds, that you are neither hot nor cold. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth”. No matter in which century in which we exist we can easily slip into a lukewarm complacency with our Lord, but His strong language here unmistakably illustrates an extreme disgust with such an attitude. We must leave the land of lukewarmness and take up the Quest for the Beatitudes today! Become more passionate about your relationship with God and what He means to you!
The Beatitudes are an exciting adventure of “pure discovery” about God and about yourself. You will surrender a part of your heart to God in each Beatitude. In the end, you will be remade and will come to know God “heart to heart” This won’t happen unless you are prepared to hand over to him a piece of your heart in each Beatitude. Be ready to experience a “Beatitude moment” within each Beatitude! This spiritual quest will take you to never imagined unexplored depths in your relationship with God and others and become the great spiritual enablers in your life.

About the Author
Marlin Harris was a Spanish high school teacher for 14 years after serving as a hospital administrator for 20 years, with missionary service in Bangladesh, Costa Rica, and Paraguay for 15 years, and as the executive director of the Baptist Hospital in Asunción, Paraguay for 11 years. He is now retired due to disability and the diagnosis of ALS, but Our Lord continues to lead him each and every day.
