You don't know my story. You only see my glory. The scars that my life decisions left behind, you don't see. The path I took that you assumed was straight, was full of deviations and wrong turns.
You don't see the detour that left me a shell of a woman, feeling as if no man would ever love me again. You don't see the 6 year stall I made on the side of the road when my mother died because I refused to open myself up to feel that type of pain again. All while killing my own progress.
You don't see the many side streets I took that only lead to dead ends. Only to come right back and travel the same road again and again. My feet tattered from my many misplaced footsteps while carrying the weight of my shame and guilt.
OH, BUT GOD!!
He filled this shell of a woman with new life...
He opened my spirit and heart to be receptive to the love he placed in people just for me...
He massaged my weary feet and delivered me from my guilt and shame. Then set me on the path he had destined for me...
You don't know he has truly been for me. He healed my wounds. Yes I have scars!! But a scar means I'm healed and not left with Band-Aid to temporarily stop the bleeding. But merely a simple reminder of how far I've come and how much God has brought me through.

About the Author
Just like a glass menagerie, God took my broken pieces and began making a masterpiece. Bonded together with the adhesive of his love, I am a living example that God can use anyone.
I’ve dealt with trial after trial after trial. And somehow in my wayward thinking I was able to call on God briefly, dust myself off and keep things moving. Never had I felt so broken that I thought “I” (keyword here is I) wouldn’t be able to bounce back.
I was the master carpenter. I could glue, nail, tape and suture my life together like no other. Slap some paint on it and Boom! Just like new. Back to living, working and half-heartedly walking on the path God set for me to follow.
But this last situation broke me beyond repair. No amount of gluing, taping or nailing was going to fix this. I thought I’d be fine. Push it to the back of my subconscious as usual and get on with my day. And day in and day out it weighed on my spirit. I knew it was bad when it started to affect me at work. The normal happy “mask” I was usually able to wear was nowhere to be found.
I was in pieces, shattered beyond repair and that is exactly where God needed me.
